Abstract
Normal hearing and communication are essential components of a child's development and education. Children with Down syndrome are prone to hearing loss because of stenotic ear canals, chronic otitis, Eustachian tube dysfunction, and inner ear dysplasia. Periodic screening of hearing has long been recommended in the health care supervision of children with Down syndrome. But how many of these children are born with hearing loss?
